Dear Grandmother

Dear Grandmother,

The greatest mother of all of us; I need you now and I need your strength to make it through the storms inside and outside of me. I’m giving you all of me.

I want to do everything for my village and I want to help my people, but first I have to help myself. I want to do everything that I have in my hand and help with your secrets that not all of us know. I know exactly what they are going through and they can’t do it by themselves because their fear to show the inside of them is too strong. They don’t think of their wellness. This flame inside of them is getting bigger and bigger. I would like to find a way out of it, but I’m young, so I really need your strength Grandmother. Because of this place, love is hard to get and understand. Some of them are trying so hard that they lose faith. When I look into their eyes, I can see that they want help and they want us to give them our hands and guide them. They doubt you, but deep inside they believe in you. They are too scared to show it. Others and l, who would do anything to help them, need your strength, your will and your love.

There is someone for each of us; help them find a way, open their eyes, show them that you was always with them and that you are still here with us.

Our mother the Earth

The earth is hurting badly and what can we do for her. She needs our help …what are you waiting for, she was always there for us why not us now…..We pull her hair with no mercy and now she is angry. Why do you think there are so many things happening? The answer, we knew it all along. We have to relieve her pain….I can feel it everywhere around me.

Listen to them

If you ever seek for an answer about something, you should listen to all the spirits. They are all around you. They live within the earth such as water, sky and etc. Well I can say everything on earth has a life….if you listen they will guide you. Listen to them with your heart.

Reading

Reading to me is a passion and I just love it. It’s a healthy way for me to escape from reality. Also, I can escape and be in a universe where you always wanted to be or just feed your fantasy. Even more, you can be someone you want to be that you can’t be, such as a witch, or a mastermind. Reading can also offer something else as well as knowledge. If you read, you can learn new words, or more than that-- facts. It can also be a way to express yourself by writing a book.

Parents' history

They were mistreated, assimilated, abused, and neglected

They got separated from their parents and humiliated

They lost their culture and beliefs, tradition and language

They have no release

Stayed in residential schools

Couldn’t see their parents for days

Tortured their heads

Strapped by teacher

Soap in the mouth

In front of other students

Some got beat up by nuns

Hair was cut because they thought they were full of lice

They were kept for years

Now we can feel their anger from here

Had passed through generations
